L’Albero is a theatre and Opera company that experiences new languages and artistic formats through processes of co-creation with artists and communities.

It, in fact, uses the theatrical language as a special instrument to go through knowledge, places, communities, issues, and contexts: the continual exchange and dialogue with other individuals (artists, scientists, old people, disabled, young people or children) is the real nourishment for the creative process.

Through many intense educational activities and focused performative actions, L’Albero has developed and realized several projects in different contexts and countries for years (public schools, penitentiaries, rehab centres), aimed to raise awareness about different topics: social campaigns, integration, prevention, knowledge distribution, early childhood and adolescent education, narration of the territory, cooperating with public and private institutions and organizations.

L’Albero’s private school, La Scuola sull’Albero, is both a factory and a workshop of its formative activity that combines theatrical education with the specific needs of the single person and the group; in its three headquarters (Melfi and Potenza and Matera the Lucanian regional seat) the school has about 100 students from 5 to 50 years old each year.
